Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying at Coral Divers and rate this as an extraordinary experience for any family who are curious about diving. From the start we were accommodated with helpful reservation services.
As first time visitors of the dive centre, it would have been useful to understand more about the functioning of the communal kitchen area and how this works as it would have assisted with our planning. (As an example, each family is allocated at least one fridge and one cupboard for dry food)...or so it seemed. There is a small shop near to the entrance of the estate, but there is also a Spar in the town of Sodwana. Since we were travelling from Kinshaka airport, we had to buy our produce on the way. I think this would have been helpful information to provide at the start, rather then leaving first time visitors to make assumptions.
The rooms were clean, although markings were visible on the white curtains. There is considerable wear and tear on the pillows and at some point it is simply evident that it needs replacing.
It is wortwhile to note that the cleaning staff, cleans the rooms and bathrooms daily. The kitchen cutlery is also cleaned and removed after use, which was a brilliant help and wonderful service offering so that you can still enjoy your holiday.
Some of the rooms only have three point plugs available, so bring along your own adapter as this is not necessarily readily available. I did point this out at reception and the manager on duty arranged for a maintenance guy to replace one of the plugs with a two point and-USB option.  The quick response to this request was remarkable (Thank you!), but still be mindful that your own adapter might be necessary depending on where you stay.
We were wonderfully impressed by our children's diving instructor, Leslie. They enrolled for their Open water I class and absolutely loved his engagement, focus, patience, care and sense of humour. Considering that our children are only 10 and 12 years old respectively, Leslie did a  remarkable job and they were certainly mesmerised by his approach to focus on safety (first and foremost) whilst also facilitating a sense of curiosity.
My husband and I, also enrolled for our refresher courses after 16 years of diving. Our Dive instructor, Ivan was thorough and extremely helpful. Since I have a back condition and cannot carry heavy loads, he assisted to help with an alternative launch into the water (from the boat) which worked superbly. This was practiced beforehand in the pool so that we knew what we wanted to do, once out at seat. He was safety conscious and demonstrated excellent manners when it came to the engagement with our group.
Both Leslie and Ivan would be an asset to any dive school and we wish them well with their future endeavours.
All in all- This was a 5 star experience with regard to our family. The staff was always helpful and willing to assist and the general  atmosphere of the resort was very welcoming. We'll certainly return to re-visit this experience. Thank you!

What an excellent experience from the start. Staff very friendly and knowing what to do. Accommodation excellent. The Dive Staff excellent support.  DM's were very good to accommodate the needs of every group member diving with them.  They took the group to very good places where the group could see so much and more than expectations. We fully enjoyed our two weeks at Coral Divers.
Accommodation: We chose aircon rooms and I feel the small bump in price is well worth it (given the heat). There are all sorts of options incl tents for those on a budget.
Food: We regularly ate at the snack shack at Coral Divers Resort. Prices were... fine (you are paying a bit more than usual, given its isolated location). We also explored the restaurants in the vicinity (we had a hire car available). Locations like Tree and Fabio's give the Snack Shack a run for their money in regard to size and price. You can buy snax here as well but they do feel pricey.  Another option is a nearby shop at the gate about 1km down the road called silver sands.
Travel/roads: We did the trip from Durban in a Suzuki Swift, unlike many others who were in big 4x4s. It was fine. The pothols along the dirt road within the reserve are tricky but not unmanageable. If you are driving up from Durban please be aware that the final 1.5hrs is on smaller local roads with many, many speedbumps, slow speed limits and many animals on the road. So plan your trip accordingly. It is useful to know that the gate to the national park stays open 24hrs. You pay CASH ONLY at the gate.
Diving:  We both did 2 x 5 dive packages (so 10 dives) and got to explore 1/4 mile (sharks), 2 mile (a vast reef with lots of options), 5 mile (small surcharge for boat fees) and 8 Mile (Ramseys). All were great spots. The water was so warm we didn't need wetsuits. Sodwana is a beach launch dive spot (ride out and back from the shore through the surf). A little extra excitement with each dive. The boat skippers were very competent. Boats were seldom too full. Coral Divers has a very active training program for lots of youthful, energetic divers who are learning the ropes. All staff were very helpful when approached and we made friends with several who work at Coral Divers.
Many people come to Coral Divers to do dive courses.  It is a great spot to learn.

Beautiful place to dive, both the national park and the reef are amazing. The facilities are very comfortable and cozy. Food is tasty and good, and the crew is really nice, friendly, and professional.
